Bancroft Dentistry"I originally invited Simon on board when having taken over my existing practice it dawned upon me that I had no obvious direction for it.

A chance meeting with Simon at the NEC when he was still at Jump! led to an initial Phoenix day to give the practice its MOT but that wasn't quite enough and it took me a further year or two to formalise a working relationship with what was now Breathe Business.

The practice hadn't really moved on from that initial meeting, mainly as being a busy practitioner meant that working on the business was never afforded much time.

Like every other practice we had issues with staffing (having the right people in the right roles), out-dated surgeries and certainly out-dated philosophies and systems.

Since working closely with Breathe we have developed a more business-like approach to running our practice. Under Simon's guidance we have made wholesale changes in the practice layout, invested in staff training and put into place more robust processes and monitoring.

The practice now recognises the need for keeping a watchful eye on 'key performance indicators', in fact since we started our new re-branded business is almost unrecognisable, for the better, from the way it once was.

On a personal note, having Breathe Business behind me whenever difficult decisions have to be made, particularly in what can be an insular profession, has provided a confidence boost and reassurance when I've needed them most.

The next phase for us is to continue our involvement with staff training (you can never have enough of this!) and focusing on well-placed marketing (our ever-evolving website is now on its third reincarnation).
